There as been a herd of Bison in Golden Gate Park since 1891.
Some of their genes were used to bring back this great American animal.

The bison lived longer than its normal life span. Unfortunately I lost interest in the article once they mention the old decrepid zombie herself Diane Frankenstein

There used to b a bunch of bison on a ranch/farm here in Bakersfield when I was a kid. The 4-h would have hay rides and bbq out there. Once I was older I wondered what had happened to the bison. I found the land but do not see any more bison. I still wonder if the owner just sold them all off or if they were killed or died over time. It was a real neat place to go check out as a kid. had a big lake or 2 also.
