My Pentax Binocs are starting to show some age after 10 or so years , the rubber coating has a powder film starting on it . I've just been using a damp rag on them seasonally to remove this dust for the last couple of years . Anyone have an idea on what I could use to stop or at least slow this ? I assume this is the rubber getting old and beginning to break down , Armorall or some other kind of preservative or treatment ?

Thanks , Dan

Dan you might contact Pentax to see what they recommend. I usually start with the manufacturer if they are still in business as they have probably dealt with that before. you might try some armorall cleaner, not the straight armorall. Hope that helps.
