When soldering the Canon S200 there's two wires for the on/off control from Brian's board.  There doesn't seem to be much contact available to solder to.  Should I scrape some of the orange film away at the contact points to get a better surface to solder?

This is probably more a Brian question.  I don't know if anyone else besides him and AEH have worked with the Canons and AEH is on vacation.

Thanks,
Todd

No scraping PLEASE.   Solder everything in place and do not power the camera up while it is open.  You run the risk of ESD which will fry it.

I emailed you and posted some tips for soldering to the camera.

You can come out of the on/off switch area or the Canon symbol on the front if you use small wires.
