I will be up in Northern California this weekend and have a question.  Does anyone know how hard it is to get onto Sacramento refuge (no reservation) for Saturdays?  What about Colusa or Delevan?  Are these refuges hard to hunt?  Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks fellas

VA:  You need to be at sacramento refuge by 8:00pm the night before shoot day to get into the lotto. Be sure to have your hunting license # with you. If your lucky and get drawn early in the lotto you may have a chance at getting a blind.  If you can't make it there by 8 then they put you into the sweat line and go in after the resis and all the lotto's.

No these refuges are not hard to hunt. Talk to the guys at the checkstation for a suggested spot.

At this time of year on a Saturday all three of those refuges will probably fill with reservation and lottery guys.

You can only be in the lottery for one of the westside refuges (Sac, Del, Col) for the same day. If you put in for more than one lottery on the same day you will get a nice letter from the DFG banning you from hunting those refuges for the rest of the season.

Sacramento is the largest of the three, so I'd suggest you put in for the Sac lottery on Friday night. Check your number and if you're under 50 be at the Sac parking lot in the morning. If you're over 50 go get a seatline number at Graylodge.

If you can't make the lottery on Friday night just go to Graylodge.
