i was reading in jim matthews column that lake perris is an oft overlooked hunting opportunity. i received their letter and being as close to home for me as it is i would like to check it out. has anyone hunted there this year or in thre past. i have never hunted duck before and dont want to piss off the vets. what is some standard duck ettiquette

1. Don't set up closer than 200 yards to other duck hunters.
2. Don't shoot at birds that are outside the range you feel you can hit 50% of the time.
3. Don't wade through other hunter's decoys.
4. Don't let your dog run around unless you're pheasant hunting.
5. Don't shoot at birds that are working somebody else's decoys.

thanks jay i really would like it to be a good experience. i really dont like pissing off another man with a gun. have you ever hunted perris

Nope. Mendota is the farthest south I've ventured with my shotgun.
