I just got back from a three-day hunt up in San Miguel, CA, north of Paso Robles. Didn't see anything for the first two days except a bunch of fresh rooting. The third day, we were driving slowly around on the ranch roads doing a bunch of glassing and came across a 250# boar asleep against a tree at 59 yards. I shoot a T/C Omega muzzleloader loaded with 100 grains of Pyrodex RS pushing a 250-grain Barnes Expander MZ bullet in a HPH-24 sabot. I hit him just behind the left shoulder and got a double-lung shot. He ran about 200 yards and piled up. The bullet was recovered just under the skin on the right side. It had punched a hole in the hide but stayed inside the animal. This was one of the best hogs the guide had seen or taken in a long time. I couldn't ask any more of the bullet. It expanded perfectly and used up 100% of it's energy inside the hog.

Nice work! We love our T/C Omegas too and have high confidence in 'em.

You will improve the performance and accuracy if you load the Barnes TEZ and use Blackhorn 209 powder. Throw all your cleaning supplies away. Just load and shoot, load and shoot.

A guy at hunter liggett this past weekend shot a 7x7 Elk @ 89 yards and did not get a pass thru also. The bullet had full expansion. I Thought he should have used magnum loads on Elk and or 295gr. The bullet traveled the same and was found just under the skin on the opposite shoulder.
