Santa Ana river bottom(Norco, Riverside, Mira Loma)

For years it has been speculated that there's a ton of hogs running through the Santa Ana river bottom. I have tried getting information from the DFG. They told me to contact the Sheriffs dept. They told me to contact DFG. It's always a run around.
Is that area open for archery hunting? Has anyone been in there hunting?
I have seen probably 60 pigs in that area training horses, but i am still unsure of the rules?..

That area is off limits due to the facts that some dummies when in there and were using the pigs as target practice and leaving the carcass behind. Dont waste your time or record you will be arrested if you go hunting in there. Its a shame too lots of pigs in there. Hopefully they will reopen for hunting one day.

All it takes is 1 or 2 with no regard for the animals, or the land to screw it up for everyone! When I was livin down there, and training colts I'd see tons and tons of sign, and like I said, I seen probably about 60 hogs in there in the course of 3 months.

There are huntable areas but very tough to get permission. In the 80's we use to hunt a dairy farm on the other side of the 71. Now they have game proof fences along most of it and a lot more traffic. You can see them from green river all the way east. I know they hunt them secretly at Rauhages.

There are a couple legal places to access the river bottom but you'd better do it with a bow and know who's land you are standing on if you get stopped. And no, please don't PM me for the spots.

The reason most of the area is off limits to hunting is it's private land and there are a lot of horseback riders. ATV riders and hikers in there that call the cops.
