Sorry, I'm not much of a story teller......up at 4am with plans of meeting my partner at 5:30. After some coffee we unloaded and figured on thinning coyotes. Fog was thick but burning off. The ground wet, weeds green and knee tall. Wet feet will be coming soon...who cares! After an hour or so, some distance could be taken in, red tailed hawks coming un-nested for breakfast. Its amazing what clues you can get from animals if you listen right. Coon tracks were noted for the first time in a long time. After some ground pounding we noticed some fresh sign! Alot of new sign for this time of year. Its a traveler...boar. judging by the tracks, a 1 1/2- 2 year old, heavy and just passing through. We tracked for an hour or so. More sign, fresh sharp ridged tracks, rooting....the trail died off the ridge and into the valley below......"THERE....THERE HE IS!" ranged at 438 yards down hill. Milling around behind a rock but slow and full broad side! PLAM! The boar turned, haunched down...tail straight. He makes a wide circle and gives a quarter to shot.....no need, he layes down and starts the death dance. Fill out the tag and go to guttin!

438 Yards. Forget about learning to hunt pig. I need to spend some time with you at the range... Congrats and great shooting. Most guys are lucky if they can even hit paper at 300 yet alone a one shot kill. Great work.
438? I know you can only shoot your recurve out to 420, must have been a compound cheater. Jk nice shot. You should have taken pics after it was cut into chunks.
