REGULATION CHANGES FOR 2001/02:
**The Commission approved a Fish and Game proposal to ban
"spinning-wing decoys" before December 1 to better evaluate
its effect on waterfowl populations.

**Aleutian geese (a small Canada goose) can now be taken after
removal from the Federal Threatened Species List.

**Canvasback seasons will be shortened to 38 days due to breeding
population status.

By the end of last season, I truely began to hate moto.  Watching the wilely mallard, the one that I've observed and hunted for 30 years, be mezmerized but such an irritating invention.  Duck hunting is one of the pursuits in life that I truely have a passion for and I wasn't sure if I ever get to hunt them again like I used to.  I am as happy as a duck hunter can be right now knowing that for half the season, I'm going to get a chance to hunt without motos.  I now have alittle more faith in the human race.

Nice to see an Aleutian can now be taken. Takes a lot of pressure off scoping out a flock of Cacklers to be sure you don't make an "oooop's" shot.

If the mallard population is in such a state as has been reported, why do you suppose they kept the hen limit at two.

Anyone know when the current moto studies will be released for public perusal. Heard they have two conflicting studies. Do they dare release both versions and start a fire storm of controversy or keep them both under wraps...........
