Shasta elk

Well, I've got the majority of my scouting behind me, with some great results. I scouted an area that holds quite a few deer. Im basically ready to just start the season tomorrow, UNTIL I received a phone call tonight. It seems a friend of mine got drawn for the Shasta antlerless tag and invited me to go. I'm leaning toward doing the planned deer hunt, instead of the elk. What would you do? seriously

I'd go get my buck. Filling my freezer is more important to me than watching someone else fill theirs (even if it is a good friend).
