I know what you mean. In Texas I've found maybe a total of 50 in 7 years. In Oklahoma I found around 150 the first year. I think thats what they call a "Honey Hole".

Get some pics posted as soon as you can.

What kind of sheds are you picking up over there in the "paddock"? Sambar Stag or what? I mean, it's Australia, right mates? Baddison......150 in a single year?? That's twice what I've been able to pick up in upstate NY in almost 10 years. Man, that IS a honeyhole and that's gotta be fun finding that many.

baddison, just curious, does Ok have really light pressure on the whitetails or a short season or what? The buck carry-over has got to be pretty good for all those sheds to be out there to find. I almost never see an antlered buck after season and our season is a high pressure deal. What's it like in Oklahoma?

Shaq,

Oklahoma up until this year has only had a nine day rifle season, nine day black powder and the rest of the time is bow only. The bow season is the only time that coinsides with the PEAK of the rut. The buck to doe ratio is close to 1:1 where we are.

Another item that probably scewed the data that first year on sheds found in Oklahoma is the ranch we purchased hadn't been hunted(sheds) very often if ever. So the first year was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Its getting more challenging now. I went last weekend and only found 12. I know thats still a good number but nothing like the first year.

Only found 12 last weekend? Man, you're sooooo lucky (I'm jealous) to have so many sheds around. Either that or you're really good (like deershed). My best YEAR I just made it to 14. Our ratio is about 1:5 or 1:6 and our gun season spans the rut and they get pounded for three weeks. Not much left Post us some pics sometime.

I did find 14 in one day.
You and baddison do have what they call "HONEY HOLES" for finding sheds!!

Shag-we need to take a trip either out West or up Canada.

Don't temp me....you know I'd drop what I was doing, rent a car and drive out there, camp out in a tent and do nothing but pound ground for a few days if I could get on some property out in the midwest or Kansas. Let's keep that idea in mind, maybe we can hook up with 135"single or whoever out there and really hit em.

Sounds like fun. My best and favorite place of 20 sq. miles is now off limits though. Government signs everywhere saying keep out. Most of the signs were allways there but I had permission from the land mananger to look there. When the Army closed it down the land mananger position went away. I don't like the thought of getting nailed for tresspassing on gov. property. Some of the land has been sold and I've gained access to it but it isn't in the good areas. Later
