Shelldrake State Forest Campground Closed for the Season

Lansing — Michigan DNR officials announced Shelldrake State Forest Campground in Lake Superior State Forest, Chippewa County, has been closed to remove hazardous trees.
The campground will officially reopen in May, 2005. The access site to Shelldrake Flooding will remain open.
Trees throughout the campground have been weakened by insects or disease and are at risk of falling or shedding large branches. Dead and dying trees in campgrounds are a safety hazard to the public.
