Auuggghhhhh! After packing, prepping and practicing for weeks my archery elk hunt plan just got killed. Family issues. Had to pick between being a good husband or a hunter. Damn in-laws! I just mailed my elk tag and transfer affidavit off and some lucky veteran will be chasing em with my tag from Nov. 13th thru Nov. 24th. Bittersweet but better somebody use it. Sure hope he or she gets one. (((sigh)))

My wife's aunt passed recently, now her brother's on his last legs so everyone is coming here for Thanksgiving/Family Reunion cuz we end up hosting every major event. Can't see hunting until the 23rd and getting home at 3am on Thanksgiving when everyone is coming a week beforehand. Why do so many people die just before the holidays? Don't they know it's hunting season?

I feel for you Bruce. I had to turn in my cow elk tag this year because I got my X9A draw, My kid won a pig hunt in the Share program and I could hunt with him but wife said no because she bought tickets to Nitro Circus this weekend and I just got back from South Dakota on a pheasant hunt. Sometimes we have to do the "husbandly" thing and be there for them. Mine puts up with a lot of fishing and hunting so I really can't complain... But man that pig hunt really stung!!!
