There are a lot more home invasion robberies than you hear about....especially here in L.A. County. It's very popular for the local gangsters to prey on these type of people because they make easy targets and home invasions in these areas are usually very profitable. It's unfortunate that so many people these days think that law enforcement will be there to help at a moments notice when needed. Sometimes it just doesn't work out that way...

The police, more often than not, are the clean up crew. They respond to a call after the mayhem has occurred. Last I heard there is one police officer per every 100 thousand people in this country.

When are the citizens of this country gonna learn that they need to protect themselves instead of relying on the government (police) to provide that service.

Average police response time in a suburban area is between five to seven minutes. That's a long time when your life depends on it. That's provided you can get to a phone in time.

Not to mention the perceived safety 911 is supposed to provide. It is just an employee dispatcher doing their job and they have to filter through the many frivolous calls they get everyday.
Where we are, the SO is 45 minutes out and that is only what they say through official dispatch, when in reality it may be much longer...
As in all areas of our lives, do not rely soley on the government, take more responsibilty for ones self...
