I'm upgrading an old 3x9 leupold scope for a vortex 4x16 scope. It's in a .300 winmag rifle.

What power should I zero at? 4x, midway or 16x? Once I get it zeroed do i need to check high and low power to make sure its good?

Thanks

Meh, *shouldn't* matter.

However when using the scope in the field... what magnification you are currently on... changes what each BDC Reticle mark equates to in terms of yards for the holdover.

If you print up a cheat sheet for yourself make sure you note the Magnification power you calculated it for on that cheat sheet.

So... using a copper-removing cleaner didn't solve that issue, eh?

Then it will not matter what power you zero at. But your reticle size will change and may be a bit more large than you are comfortable with as you go up in power. You will not need to recheck on any power.
