Nice pics askman, I really like the first one of the barn with the old fence in the foregound. Thanks for sharing

Nice Silhouettes. How did you harden/darken the subjects so well without showing the details? Did you bump down the EV or do it via photoshop? (The mule deer looks like you probably metered the sky)

For the silhouettes I will meter off of the sky and then usually under expose anywhere from 1/3 to one full stop. There is usually very little detail in the foreground objects. I will also usually bump up the saturation a bit in photoshop to help bring out the colors. If anything I like the photo to be uderexposed a bit then I can brighten the sky slightly using levels in photoshop.
