I've watched my "The Truth, Big Bulls" videos so many times I've finally quit getting the shakes and goosebumps so I guess I'm about ready. I've loaned the vidoes to my hunting partner and his 16 year old and they say they are still getting goosebumps so they're not quite ready yet.
Man, I hope we can call in a bull for the kid. I would give up my chance at a bull to see him get one or have one get close and personal with him. I hope we can make it happen. Of course if one happens to get close to me I wouldn't complain either.
I've heard that the populations are good in the area of The Blues we will be hunting. I've hunted the area in past years when it wasn't so good and still had pretty good success so, if the projections are right, this ought to be a good year. The bull to cow ratios are right on the management quotas. I hope so. I would be nice to have consistant action.
We will be hunting for 3 weeks solid and I know the area well so our chances are better than most. Now it's just up to the weather and the rut. Cool weather and an early rut would be nice but since we hunt far from the roads it sometimes isn't a huge factor. It just makes it much easier. AND NO FIRES. That could really screw us up........damn, there I go thinking negative.
