Hey guys,
I'm planning to buy a rifled slug barrel for my Mossberg shotgun for the Lake Sonoma pig hunts. Thing is I always thought I had a Mossberg 500, but looking at it the other day, I found out it's a Mossberg 600 AT, which is not listed on Mossberg's website. My question is if I buy a rifled slug barrel for the Mossberg 500, will it fit the 600 AT ? I e-mailed Mossberg, but from what I hear they never answer e-mails, so I'm hoping one of you experts out there can help me out.
Thanks,

Taishan

Find a friend who has a model 500 and then see
if the barrel off of it will fit yours. If it does "BINGO".

Hey Beaver,
That's an excellent suggestion ! I'm sure several of my hunting buddies have Mossberg 500's. Thanks for turning on the light for me !

Safety first, Ask a Gunsmith! What might appear visually correct might be unsafe even if if works for a few shots.
There is a big difference in shooting shot and slugs in pressure.
It is a simple question. I am sure there is an abundant amount of smiths that would quickly answer your question.
I know that e-gunparts.com has a forum for such questions.

just my thoughts,
Chris.

Can't disagree with the safety first gunsmith crowd...but a 600AT is the same as the Mossberg 500.

They were New Haven Firearms "store brand" guns, thus the different model number. I think if you inspect it closely you'll see that it is marked New Haven on the bottom of the receiver, but has a Mossberg-marked barrel.

I'd have it checked in any case but I'd bet a dollar that's what it is.

BTW, I bought a Mossberg slug barrel with a 3x9 scope through Wally-Mart online and it was the best deal going. I put a Hogue over-molded stock on it (grand total of about $200 for the barrel, scope and stock) ) and it's one bad looking and good shooting pig stick.

p.s. Not wanting to jump your thread, but shouldn't this be moved over into the Guns and Ammo:Shotguns forum?
