Thanks folks, it is surprising how a simple subject can give a striking image doing macro photography.

That is a great picture. I have also heard that you can try cpture them on black velvet (nice and cold of course). With the proper lighting they would really stand out. I have never tried it myself though. Not enough snow around here.
