Where are you all shooting high power rifles now that SGVGC is closed?

I miss that place, what's the next best?

I haven't been to Burro Canyon for a couple years, still the same?

I haven't been there but, just before Fish Canyon closed, one of the Gun Club members told me the the Club will be moving to Burro Canyon. He said the facilities are pretty crude and to bring my own toilet paper.

I was up at Burro recently for the first time. Not bad and they're busy making improvements. It could turn out to be a pretty good place to shoot if they keep it up.

Where is Burro Canyon? Is the West End shooting range now closed?

Thanks Marty. Are you guys sure they moved out there? That seems really out of the way compared to their old spot, (lol, I obviously live in the Inland Empire and don't want to drive that far). I'll just drive out to BLM land in the desert and set up my own targets.

Hello XJJones,
The safe rule for the IE is "don't". There are no "safe" rifle spots on BLM land located in the IE.
The safest BLM land to discharge a rifle is north of the "shotgun only" zone in the San Bernardino County.
That is why Burro Canyon and the West End GC are recommended for anyone near the IE.
If you are in the SBNF, a rifle may only be used for hunting, or at a designated public shooting spot.
The forest service has a map of these locations with access restrictions.

Lytle Creek is where neighbors of mine go to shoot. I'm a member of Inland Fish & Game & the Banning Sportsmans Assoc where I go to shoot trap, rifles & handguns.
