These little guys (spotted pardalotes) are the most trusting birds around. While I was taking pics they were flying on to my hand to check out the noise the camera was making. They are easy pray for cats and as good a reason as any to kill every cat you see if you have the chance.

What a beautiful blue warbler, Auzzie. What is its range there, on the Island Continent?

We have bluebirds at our archery range, and they often come out to catch flies, they are excellent fly catchers.

Their blue plumage is stunning, like the sky, even more solidly blue than a jay's is.

The only birds I have seen which are equally stunning are the red cardinal birds and the yellow oreoles, neither of which I have ever seen in California though, those both being "East Coast" birds.

.

These guys here are called spotted pardalotes and they are endemic to aus'. They are found all around the coast except in the tropical north. They are hanging in really well around our city despite all the cats and the construction because they can nest in small hollows in the side of buildings and bridges etc'. These guys were hanging around the front door of a friends house and just didn't seem to care if I was there or not.

We grow all sorts of fruits in our garden to attract the locals and our pomegranate tree gets regular visits each Autumn by a flock of king parrots.
Check this out for birds with attitude...
