LOL, when its cool out you can find them all hours of the day. Hotter weather even in the fall and winter and spring its early and late, otherwise their holed up in the thick stuff seeking shade.. and sometimes you just get lucky and just find them where they are and get a good shot at them

Yes I definitely know pig behavior and their habits and how they roll through the whole day...lol, I was just curious how the hog got caught with its pants down, that's all....lol that hog is ready for the feast!...tra 20220108_061926.jpg

I know what Ya meant TRA, just messing with Ya, the place i hunt has a lot of steep hills, usually they hear Ya coming but don't see too well. I've caught a lot of them looking around for what spooked them, and BOOM pig takes a nap lol

From what I hear, they are very very tasty. With the helicopter pig eradication efforts in Texas, dozens per trip get donated to homeless shelters. They are a tasty viable food resource.

Thanks for the info.
It is nice to know they're feeding the homeless with a crop nuisance that needs eradicated.
Eh, if I hear enough folks say its tasty then I will try it when I get the chance.

It‘s illegal to donate feral hog meat in Texas without it being processed and inspected by the USDA. There was one meat processing plant that would pay for feral hogs, they were using it in dog food, but they stopped buying. I have found out that most people out here in Texas look at Feral Hogs like giant rats and don’t want anything to do with them. They just want them dead.
