Last year I went a few times, on a weekday morning I once saw at least 25 cars in the Yorti creek lot. That place is heavily hunted. I live 25 minutes away and have heard of very mixed results. I have seen a 250lbs boar come home from there, but I have never even seen a live pig while being there. I have seen a LOT of sign. And some fishermen I know see them all the time. But seeing them from the water and getting in to archery range are two different things. The guys I know who have had success usually find them bedding down. They are all over that place. From every road in and out of there there is sign of rooting. Down behind the the sherriff station is creek access that I see rooted up all the time. The ranger I talked too said there is the most success coming from the old entrance by the bridge about 15 miles out Skaggs springs rd.
But, there is a hunt club located right next to the lake at the end of rockpile rd. and I hear they have incredible opportunities. Being local, i caualy hunt there because the cost is low. But i would not drive over 1.5 hours to get there, just not worth it to me. They are just so pressured, and the terrain is so challenging. I'll bet two weeks into the season they go entirely nocturnal. That'll be $0.02 please.
Good luck
