Any of you guys from or shedhunt in Southeast Saskatchewan? I'll be heading there on March 15th for a week of shedhunting. Just wondering if anybody here can give me some heads up on what I should be looking for.
Where abouts there? I,m in North Central North Dakota, not to far from there,we have alot of snow so far..Not good for hunting sheds yet, getting close though/....
FossilMan, I'm looking into Moose Mountain Provincial Park for my first day or two depending on how that goes. If that doesn't work out, I'll probably travel as far north as Regina.
Not sure where you are from James, but if it's the US your biggest problem is getting the sheds back across the border. I've heard that they are limiting you to 2-4 sheds. I won't be making my annual trip this year or any other year until the US lifts their ban.
I've understood that I may or may not have some problem getting the sheds back. I'm from Northwest Wisconsin. If nothing else, I know some people in Saskatoon who may be able to mail some.
J Vee,
Sorry, I have nothing to offer on your Sask trip, but just wondering where in n/w WI your from. I am originally from E.C. Sort of the southern end of n/w WI. We have land near Birchwood, in s/w Sawyer County, and from what I hear, the snow is still pretty deep. Won't be making my annual shedding trip to the hunting grounds for a couple of weeks. Hope to hear and see some great results from the Sask trip. Good luck!!!!
I have family up there in Sack, and Manitoba.I just leave my finds up there and bring them back a few at a time.Being local around the borber the Patrols let us do more things than most other people.I never have any problems with them...
I live in Estevan Sask which is only about 1 hour from the Moose Mountains. THere is still a S@#$ load of snow here. And according to the weather forecast more os on the way here shortly. I know the areas I want to get into to do some shed hunting, I cannot even get close to by road becasue of all the white stuff.
If u have a snow machine I would be bringing it and a good pair of snowshoes.
Good luck anyway and be sure to post your findings.
Toba, It's supposed to be warming up this next week. So hopefully some of the snow will drop. I only have this week because of Spring Break. There are advantages and disadvantages. By going early, I figure I can get the "easy" ones. And hit areas that have not been already looked over. I'm expecting to get quite a work out though. No snowmachine, but I will have snowshoes. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
JV, small world I,m from Superior. I,ve been hanging around here for a couple of years now. Great people around here. Good luck shed hunting up north. Homer
