Hey guys. I haven’t been quail/dove hunting in some time, and when I have, I usually go with a buddy and his dad. I know dove is closed this time of year, but I’m looking to do some late season quail hunting. We used to go just east of silverwood lake and west of Hesperia in a decent size patch of desert that is known as Honda Valley. As some of you may know, a lot of that land is undeveloped private land, but it is not fenced off and people camp, ride their ATV’s, and shoot out there all the time with little to no police presence. But my big concern in the dwindling dove and quail population in the area. Anyway, the decline of the population and now that the land is going to start to be developed soon into new housing means I need to find a new place to go. Obviously you guys aren’t going to give out your spots, but any general location I can start looking and scouting around the western side of the San Gabriel mountains? Maybe around the foothills of the big bear or wrightwood areas?
