I am going to mount my PIR internal in a Pelican 1120 box.

What should I use for spacers to get the right distance from the fresnal lens and if it's purchased, where can I get it.

I saw mention of  lexan of 1cm x 3cm long.  Where can I buy this?

Thanks all

Howdy Chris- You can mount the circuit board with the sensor, outside of its original housing to just about anything. EX. metal bracket, aluminum angle
What ever works best with your setup.
Just remember that the distance from your pir sensor and the fresnal should be about 5/8"

Chris - I believe most are using the original fresnel lens, gluing it flat to the inside of the box. They just mount the sensor 5/8" behind the fresnel. Good luck.

But how are they "mounting" the sensor 5/8" from the lense and making sure it doesn't move.

Are they positioning it in the foam and just glueing it in place?

Thanks

Chris, I've built three of the cameras using this sensor and I got 1/8" plexi-glass from a local hardware store then cut two strips to glue the sensor in between then used a 9volt battery to hold the sensor off of the front of the housing just long enough for the epoxy to dry.
