I am curious to know if the camera flash or noise is spooking deer, especially bigger bucks. I am not talking about over bait or food plots but just set up on a game trail.  I would be interested in even does because during the rut as they go so do the bucks.  I have read some about both yes and no.  What is the major thought on this?  Thanks.

I believe its noise because when the flash lights the deer is already spooking or looking at camera. I believe no matter how silent or well insulated the camera is the deer will hear the film advancing and the shutter trip. I believe noise is the culprit.

treestandman2,

There's a number of threads on this topic.  If you do a search using the tools above you will find them under the 'Game Trail Camera' forum.  I used the word 'spook' and hit on a couple in the one section.  Don't know how many additional times it will show up in the other section.
