Spotting scope adapter

I don't yet have a spotting scope but if I were to buy one in the near future, is there any way that I can use this as a zoom lense for still photos?

It seems like a waste to buy some really good glass in a spotting scope and not be able to hook it up to your camera somehow.

I need to go water the money tree in the back yard but if it starts producing, I'm looking at the Zeiss 20-60x85mm spotting scope and the Sony DSC707 digital camera, if that makes any difference.

Songdog, it is called "digiscoping" and many have found it quite popular.  However, I have only heard of people using their Nikon Coolpix cameras.
