Spotting Scopes

I've got a POS Swift spotting scope and i'm looking upgrade, any thoughts on which model/brand is should get.....anything over $500 is out.

Thinking 'bout Nikon's, but want to hear what you guys use.

Read my post under Coues deer about binocs with a tripod much better for finding game .I have a spotting scope but the class I just finished this week made me a believer in this method one can see better using both eyes.I'm in the market for better binocs to use with the Velbon Chaser EFL-4A tripod(some camera shops have this for $79) that won't empty my bank account,Pentax binocs have high quality lenses in their higher power binocs.Check out optics planet .net,adorama,optics spot ,bear basin for binocs.

What would you suggest.....saw some Pentax 20x60 for a great price. What power/maginification was the guide using?

Arrowslinger Duwane was using Swarovski 15x56 but he gets them free as he's a dealer and he bought a doubler at a discount.He also has a set of Zeiss Conquest binocs 15x45 which are really nice,he uses them for stalking.I tried my 10x40 Leupold Instant Focus w/o much success just couldn't see that much at a mile or more and couldn't see the number of points ,my eyes are 71 yrs old.I'll either get 12x50 or 20x60 binocs from Pentax just noticed Cabelas has Pentax for pretty reasonable prices.

Arrowslinger I found some Pentax 20x60 PCF WP ll binocs on ebay(7178130177) with a phone # 212-753-5128 so I called ended up purchasing them along with a Tripod Adaptor from Camera Land in NYC got mine for $175 after mentioning another pair was 125.It always pays to use the jewish NYC dealers in optics as they always have discounts me and many friends have purchased digital cameras from these discount stores.
