This could be a good year with these rains again in the spring. Who optimistic? Who's a pessimist and will wait to see if the rains pan out?

I think so. Towards the end of last season I was still seeing coveys and still bagging a few birds. I believe there was a good holdover seed. Now I drive around and see the desert floor with nice grass, flowers, and plenty of bugs on my vehicle. I continue to train my dogs in the off season and am finding paired up quail right now. Haven’t seen any fuzz balls yet and haven’t looked for chukar yet. But yes, I think it should be a good 2020 season

another week of rain in socal. The locals reminded me we've had one last storm right before mothers day the last 5 years.

Here's my rainfall data from my weather station in Redlands. My rain year is from Jan 1 to dec 31. The government tracks Oct 1 to sept 30 i believe.

If the rain keeps up it might be a good year for lakes and ponds. Hope it's also a good year to keep fires down and under control.

I'm betting it will be off the hook.
In a lot of area's seeing tons of paired up birds,

It'll help, however, we already seeing blazing hot temperatures, definitely not a good sign this early here in Mountains.
