Anybody hunt wild pig in Stanislaus County? From what the Ca. Fish and Game stats. say there have been quite a few pig shot in Stan. County.

I live in Modesto and am looking for a good place to start a search for local landowners who are willing to let hunters on there property. Any advice for where to start would be greatly appreciated. What type of orchards should I consider almonds and walnuts, or fruit?

Most of the pigs in stanislaus county are taken in the western hills (coastal range) of the county. I used to have a spot to go up Del Peurto Canyon which you can get to from Patterson. The ranch sold though. Bummer. My next closest spot is now 2.5 hours rather than 45 minutes.

If you knock on doors asking to varmit hunt, you may work your way into a good pig/deer hunting spot too.
