Hunters, anglers, wildlife watchers or anyone who values and enjoys Colorado’s wildlife can now get up-to-the-minute news from the Colorado Division of Wildlife delivered right to their computer via e-mail.
The “DOW Insider” is a new, free service designed by the Division of Wildlife to help keep the public informed. Anyone can subscribe, and those who do get the latest information and news releases about hunting, fishing, and other wildlife related activities.
“The ‘Insider’ allows the public to receive information about the Division firsthand,” said Dale Lashnits, the Division of Wildlife’s chief of public affairs. “It’s part of the effort to communicate with and work closely with the public in protecting the Colorado’s wildlife and serving the public’s interests.”
To sign up for the “DOW Insider,” go to the Division of Wildlife’s Web site at http://www.wildlife.state.co.us. Click on “personalize this site,” then go to “sign up for my DOW,” and fill out the personal information form.
Subscribers can choose to receive information from several different categories, or a combination of categories, including: fishing, habitat, hunting, threatened and endangered, Wildlife Commission action, viewing and general, which will include all of the information sent by the “Insider.” Once the information is saved, subscribers will receive e-mails with information related to the selected categories.
“The ‘Insider’ represents a very promising opportunity for the agency and for the public that has an interest in Colorado’s wildlife resources,” said Lashnits. “In the near future, we can use it to send everything from video news releases to information about different species for teachers and schools.”
