I have taken a few days off around the 12th of October to do some bow hunting, I sure hope this steamy weather has subsided (can't handle these mid 90's) and it gets cold. I've been out a few times when we had the lows in the 40's, but still was harrassed by skeeters so bad that I left stand early. This year I have purchased a Summit Viper SS climber and will have more opportunity for set ups. Can't wait for a good hard freeze and some leaves to drop. If the weather don't cool down then I guess I will fish the hybrids and whites at Truman.

Any of you have an eye on a bruser out there to try and setup on?

Hey, H&W!

I ended up postponing a 3-day guided hunt for this Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, because of the heat.

We re-scheduled for next Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, hoping the heat would break by then. It looks like the high's are gonna be in the 70's, but that sure beats the 90's.

I've got a couple of bucks that are living on my property ~ one small 7 point, and supposedly (I haven't seen him, but the neighbors have) a nice 8 point or better.

This is my first year hunting with a compound bow. Sure would be neat to christen my bow, with a nice buck!

Hey Rick, good to hear back from you! I hope that the weather cooperates for you next week. I could hardly stand it when we had lows in the 40's, and then the highs in the 70's, dang skeeters drive me crazy. My friend Bill tells me that he met you at a missouriwhitetail get together (mailman bill), said that ya'll had a great time and he enjoyed visiting with you. Good luck with the new compound, what did you get anyway? I bought the reflex buckskin last season and love it. I havent had a kill with it yet though, I retired my old reflex to my son-in-law, good kills with that bow, it was a whitetail hunter model and I had it for 7 years.
