Steiner Compacts - Review

I use Wind River 8X42's for hunting (love them), but wanted a pair of compacts to keep in the glovebox, take on an upcoming Cruise vacation, etc. I had some Cabela's gift cert's and recently bought the Steiner Merlin 8X24's. I'm very happy with them! Clear, bright, couldn't ask for more. I looked through a guy's Zeiss compacts once and was amazed how good a small pair of binoculars could be. The Steiners aren't quite that good, but for the price (199.00) I'm very pleased.

Can't wait to use them on that Caribbean cruise

What're you gonna be glassing down in the Caribbean there, Bou-hunter?

If there was ever a good place for a pair of compact binoculars, that would be it!

We just got back from the cruise. I didn't take them to the beach, wife might have questioned that! They were great for using on the balcony, checking out islands, ships, etc that we were passing.

Wish we were still there, that 80 degrees was nicer than the 20's here in Michigan today.........
