Two years ago today, then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) issued the following statement:
“Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices …”

For a little more reminiscing, just look at the price of energy the day she made that statement. Compare that with today.

Crude Oil, 4/24/06: $64.00 Crude Oil, 4/24/08: $117.40
Natural Gas, 4/24/06: $6.38 Natural Gas, 4/24/08: $10.79
Gasoline, 4/24/06: $2.96 Gasoline, 4/24/08: $3.56
Heating Oil, 4/24/06: $2.71 Heating Oil, 4/24/08: $3.31
Diesel, 4/24/06:$2.87 Diesel, 4/24/08: $4.14

Similar to the question those little ladies in that Wendy's commercial asked more than 20 years ago, Americans are asking "Where's the Relief?"

"Two years ago on the campaign trail, Democrat leaders made insistent promises to lower the cost of gas:

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): “Democrats have a plan to lower gas prices…” (Release, 4/18/06)
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): “Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices….”(Release, 4/24/06)
Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD): “Democrats believe that we can do more for the American people who are struggling to deal with high gas prices….” (Release, 10/4/05)
Democrat Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC): “House Democrats have a plan to help curb rising gas prices.” (Online Town Hall Meeting, 7/26/06) "

"Contrary to their campaign promises, Democrats have done virtually everything they can do to raise the price of gasoline for U.S. drivers… and their plan has worked to perfection. The only question is why they aren’t doing more to take credit for the success of their plan?” (Nashville City Paper, op-ed, 4/17/08)

For those that say I make this stuff up or get it from wing nut conspiracy sites... It's all out there folks, even a "6th grader" like me can find historic facts and quotes, because I LOOK...

Easy - you need to brush up on reading comprehension. When I pointed out your straw man argument in the other thread, I wrote that anyone with a 6th grade education would laugh at it.

The person putting up the straw man argument isn't a sixth grader, the person not falling for it is. Save your mock indignation.
