Article seems to have either come down or been moved. I posted about it over on the Hog Blog when the report first came out (Lead Ban Chronicles - Local Survey Challenges DFG Compliance Estimate - The Hog Blog - The Hog Hunting Blog_), but the bottom line is that the "survey" was circulated in local sporting goods shops and received 76 responses. Not very scientific. In contrast, the DFG reported approximately 6500 field encounters and came back with about a 99% compliance rate... still, not scientific, but a lot more telling than an anonymous survey in local sporting goods stores. The article DID point all of this out, and included interviews with DFG representatives as well as condor folks. The article was a lot more even-handed than some of the resulting headlines implied.
How many drivers ignore drunk driving laws? 100% compliance is a pipe dream, and even lawmakers realize this when they pass a law.
