Well, since you ask.....
How about out at Bond's corner?
Also the DFG fields up north in Nyland.
I used to hunt out by Brock Research, about 11 miles eastof El Centro, though last year there were many bee hives on the property.
Mostly I just go into the scrub, down by the border.
Let me know what you see. Hopefully the weather holds and no rain falls driving the birds into mexico.

More doves than I've seen down there in many years.

East Highline from Bonds Corner to Niland full of dove.

Fish and game fields up in Niland holding lots of birds.

Not much wheat being grown but birds are being opportunistic and are there in mass now. Let's hope the weather holds.

I used to hunt Brocks are as well from 1973 through about 1980. Hunting slowed down when the trees started dying.

Good luck.

Are the DFG fields draw only or first come first server?

I will never forget the sight of a guy levelling his gun and shooting straight at me. I covered, and did not bleed, but it took two guys to keep me from beating that man. Now, I don't hunt in a crowd!

Those fields are still there after opener. Last year my buddies and I cleaned up down there after the first.

A friend of mine that lives in El Centro emailed me tonight, he says he's seeing dove all over, and lots of white wings.
I can't make Wednesday's shoot, so I hope you guys leave some birds for Friday!

I agree that hunting the fields when it is crowded is just plain stupid. Would rather stay home. I'll never go back down to that area to hunt. WIth all the border patrol and the over hunted fields its just not worth it.
