Got picked for a pig hunt in Tehema Wildlife for 28 and 29 of April.  Never been through the area, if anyone could help point me in a good direction i would appreciate it.  Looks like the hunt is in the southwest corner of the area.

Thanks in advance

I used to hunt there until the rules & regulations drove me out.  You can count on seeing snakes everywhere during the spring.  The local hunting clubs to the west raise pigs, and and some of them wander up unto Fish & Game Land.  The most productive area is south of the Fish & Game land down near Mill Creek.  The guides use the pack trail down to Mill Creek that passes under Kingsley Cave.  The trail starts just west of Wild Horse Corral up on Hog Back ridge.  You will have to talk to someone who has hunted the Fish & Game Land recently to find out where the pigs are hiding now-a-days.

Hey Richard, I have deer hunted this area for about 10 years now and never seen any pig sign.  We camp at Black Oak campground and hunt all down to Mill creek and to Kingsleys/ plane wreck area.  the only pig sightings i know of were after the fire last year.  Drop me an email if you still frequent the area, might have run into each other durring G-1 season.

Yeah, that's one of my old hunting spots.  It's the right distance from the Bay Area, so that when a storm hits you can drive up there on Friday night after work. (or call-in sick)  The last day of deer season up there was usually better than the first.  But, the hog area was down stream from Kingsley, and it would take a good pack horse to get the meat back up to Hog Ridge.  The name of the hunting club has been changed to something like M.U.M. (?) I always did good where you hunt, how's hunting now-a-days?

Richard, you would probably be sick at the amount of people in that area now.  I hunt with some old timers who have been going up there for 30 some years when you could still drive down to Table Mt.  They  say it isn't anywhere close to what it used to be, but is anyplace in Ca anymore?   There are hunters on every ridge and rock in that whole area.  We did pull some big deer out this year, all dressed over 150 and 3 pt or better.  talked to a warden that said 90% of the herd had migrated through before the C-4 hunt.

T2-

I have C4 down as my second choice.  If that's what I get I'll be there a month earlier than you G1 guys, and will try to post something here on the forum.  It will be like old times hunting Black Oak, Kingsley Cave and Mill creek.  I usually fly fish the Chetco with old friends during the one week that G1 is open.
