Maybe now is the time to try to impact that decision. I expect the hogs pose a problem for even the tree huggers. The question is, what kind of conservancy is involved and how could they be approached. QU, MDF, RMEF, PF - any interest? (and if there is any significant water, DU, CWA?). Wonder where DFG would come in on this. If they are going to put a conservation easement on it, maybe some requirements could be inserted. 100,000 acres is a lot of land and protected public hunting acreage is badly needed - even if a draw/permit system needed to be included. Any ideas?
DK there is water there not sure where the land line is thats being proposed, quite a few cattle ponds that can hold lots of birds and a lake thats visible from the 5 ,d
I just posted some articles on some of the Nature Conservancies and their wheelin and dealin in the land forum. Many of the conservancies like the one local here in Oak Glen allow hunting. There does seem to be some smoke on their sweet deals they are cutting with owners and buyers and the IRS may be on them soon to clean up their act. Someone will challenge their non profit status I believe.
