Nice hogs Fishking. Did you see many hogs? What time were they bedding up? What's the story on plugging them piggies? Gotta have a story or two.

Ok so here we go with the story...It was friday and we just got to camp and met with my buddies Jason,Dennis, and Randy. Jason and Dennis were first time hog hunters and road conditions were really bad.Soo i had recommended to them to try driving up bear trap as far as possible and then get out and walk around. After seeing them off we headed to our spot at about 3pm and saw that someone was already there but that did not discourage us so we parked and walked a bit. After about 10min of glassing we heard a gunshot. We went toward the area the shot came from to see if we could see any movement but no such luck. Then 5 min later 3 more shots rang out and then we heard the squeal and the big boar tumble down the ridge. We helped the hunters locate their pig because they had no idea it had rolled all the way down. Later we continued on our walk through the wet, bright green landscape and we were almost to the truck when my brother looked back and then asked me "have you looked back there?" and i said "no..why?"..he said i think those are pigs down there. So we both raised our binos and sure enough about 510 yds back and across the canyon there was a group pigs huddled up and bedded in the bit of sun that was shinning through. We talked over a plan and made our way down towards the pigs weaving through the trees and brush to get to within 130 yds of the bedded pigs.Me and my brother found a nice tree branch to rest on and waited for the lazy piggies to get up.I looked down at my watch and it read 4:58pm and I thought to myself these pigs should be getting up anytime and right on cue 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8!! pigs got up.I told my brother (Mike) im taking the lead pig.He said ok he was getting the second one so as soon as they both presented a nice broadside shot we both fired almost together and just like that both pigs went down with one shot. Then the 3 hour drag back to the truck and then it was beerthirty...lol..I will post Jasons' pig story tomorrow...Thanks for the congrats guys!

Very nice!! Congrats!!

Just curious, what is the fruit on the ground in the photo with both of you? Looks like good eating for the pigs.... :pig-laughing:
