I'll be there with my son Josh, who's 12 and just got his license this year. Will be hunting with Jay (loadsprayer). Looking forward to the trip.

I will be up there as well. I wish the weather was a little cooler so the pigs keep moving around more.

It will be a blast either way...

Just walk the pig beds they are there and will offer a shot if your patient. You just sit outside of the thick stuff and you'll hear them before you see them. For every one you see or hear there is usually 10 more still sleeping. And don't worry about the wind so much if it blows over them they will get up and run in all directions even right at you, as long as your not located by them before they get up.

And most important take the first pig you find otherwise you'll be sorry.

Good luck guys and have some fun, the ranch is in great shape and the Flowers are in full bloom....take lots of pictures.

Hopefully we do not get a strong Santa Ana wind. There is also a full moon this weekend.

I think most the pig beds, besides those in the campground, are in the thick stuff along the slopes and in the canyons.

If anyone needs some help with their first hunt on Tejon send me an email and I'll be glad to give up some honey holes and basic info on the ranch.

I was online looking at the prices for that place and I almost had a heart attack looking at those prices. With prices being that high, I might as well just stick to eating domestic pigs. I can probably get 5 domestic pigs for that price already LOL.

Yea it's steep but well worth having access to 55,000 acres per side and lots of pigs, on average we see 50 + hogs on a weekend of hunting plus it's clean no hassles limited people on the ranch and some of the most beautiful country in So Cal.

Any update on how the 5/8 pig-o-rama went? How about some pics???
I saw alot of hogs in the mornings and evenings. Afternoons were dead.
I had three shots all in difficult and fast situations, so no keeper for me.
Roads were in great shape and ranch beatiful condition. I think only 15 pigs were taken with about 50 hunters.

It was a rifle hunt and the take was much lighter than normal. We saw pigs morning and evening, but they were in and out of the beds and in the steep and deep thick stuff. I missed a long shot. Distance was way more than I estimated when I hiked in to see if I hit it. Still had a great time

Same story for me. I think the full moon and hot weather kept the hogs down.

It was really HOt weather wise. We did see pigs all over the ranch, but we passed up shots due to steep slopes. The recovery would be impossible in most cases. The foxtails are getting high mixed with the wild oats.

The Pigs were holding tight until 7:30 pm or in their beds by 6:30 am.
A great time however!

Good LUck next week for the boys heading up next weekend!!
