Just got back from Burro Canyon sighting in the .270 using the Barnes TripleX copper bullets (Federal Premium). My Ruger M77 made 3/4" groups dead on target at 100yds. Didn't touch a thing on the gun.
I only shot half a box. At $2.50 a round target shooting is not an option.
I have heard that the copper bullets shoot differently than lead...but I gotta say, they were dead on.
My buddy had to make windage adjustments in his Mark II and my son in law had to make a slight elevation adjustment on his old Mauser 98 in 30-06. But no great shakes IMO.
Burro Canyon is my new favorite place to shoot! Clean operation there. I will post pics when I get home.
Leaving for Tejon at O'dark:30 to hunt Friday,Sat,Sun.
Wish us luck!
