Growing up in Hawaii I never had the chance to compare the two close together. How do you tell the difference? I know if it's in soft mud that pigs have those two dew claw things but if it's in harder dirt i can't tell. Deers are supposed to be narrower?

help me out

What inchr said..

Deer just have that classic shape, pigs have a more open front, and both front and back feet will have rounded front points.

Also checking for hairs in nearby tree bark and fence posts will tip you off, and don't forget to look for tunnels in the brush....

One thing I've noticed while tracking hogs is they tend to go straight up or down a hill. Deer like to angle when undisturbed like cows.
