After many tries in California and a work trip to Texas planned for spring break I loaded the kid and off we went. 20 some hours of driving later and all of the work completed we found ourselves at Keechi Creek Outfitters in Centerville, Texas. The owner Mike was always there and made sure we were comfortable. It is a high fence but there are just as many hogs outside of the fence as in. We saw at least 10 and shot one on the outside. We only had 1.5 days to hunt and got 6 hogs in that time. Kassandra my 12 year old daughter shot 5 and I got one. We had our choice of hunting them in a blind or stalking the thickets and jumping the in the bedding areas that the guide knew of. We chose the stalking as it is much more fun and yes they do charge when you wake them up and you are close. I would recommend Keechi Creek Outfitters to anyone that wants to hunt hogs and is in Eastern Texas. They are GREAT with kids and that is the main reason I went.
