Maybe some of you Texas folks can help answer a question.

I was looking into a future bobwhite quail hunting trip for possibly
Ok or Texas, and I was looking into some of the Texas WMAs,
namely Matador WMA, I noticed the list Feral Hogs as living
in this WMA and was wondering about details of hogs on public
land hunting in Texas. I see that the 5-day hunting license I would
need for quail would also be good for pigs, but I also noticed on the
parks and wildlife page that there are special draw hunts on the WMAs
for hogs.

Is the pig hunting on the Texas WMAs only by draw, or is there "walk on" hunting
at certain locations/times of the year?

I believe I could hunt pigs on private land fairly cheap, I was
just wondering about the public land, since I may be there anyway?

Thanks,
PA

Hey PA,

Here is the link to the TP&W WLM Page,
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/wma/

It list links to the individual areas. It also has a link to Public Hunting oppurtunities. You might look into that as well. There is also an 800 number that will get you in touch with the TP&W where you can ask specific questions.

Hope this helps.
