Depending on what uncle sam has for me, I plan on getting after some California Hogs, but on the way back home to Georgia I would like to chase some piggies texas style with my Mathews, as well as my old man and buddy from college.

Has anyone hunted Texas for pigges, if so where, how was the hunt, how much, and would you recommend the ranch, or better yet go back. I have emailed a few places but besides what mr. internet tells me know nothing of where to go. I don't care about accomodations, might have the old man's RV, but a quality experience is of the utmost importance. Anyway any info would be great, and I know there are plenty of piggies here in California, and especially in Georgia, but in between here and there would be a fun trip as well.

Thanks

I have gone to Texas and hunted pigs there. It was a blast. There are so many pigs there you get to pick and choose the ones you want. We went around New Years last year to South Texas and are planning a trip this next summer west of San Antonio. Bring ammo. We are up for 3 pigs his year each, the cost is an out of state tag I think $55 or somehting not sure. No tags or anything else required. Then we pay $300 each for ranch access which also included 3 nights stay in the bunk house that were good accomidations. If you get a chance do it I had fun and even better for the newbees' to the sport. Took my father in law it was his first time and he got one last year. Good luck

I have emailed a bunch of ranches, most sound the same, I am trying to decide which one to hit based on their location, most of the ranches I have found are further south than I want to go, I don't want one located off the !20, however twenty hours off is more than I want, I am thinking about finding one in the pan handle area, since we might drive through the rockies on the way there that might work out the best.

Anyway what ranch did you use, and which one are you using now, since we have the rv accomodations will not be necessary, and since I am trying the budget this hopefully that makes it cheaper.

Dad wll have his recurver, me my mathews, and my buddy will be using my back up bow, a Jennings Buckmaster. Thanks for any info you have on top of what you already provided
