Wow!,,,sure did have a great time this past weekend on my place! Lotsa nice people out enjoying things,,,

I sure did enjoy having everybody out,,,[smile]...

The photo is of Steven, who hunted my place this past weekend. Here's the photo of Steven and his dad with the same hog,,

Steven's hog weighed in at 165 lbs,,,and was shot with his .243 from about 60 yds out from a double tripod stand; with his dad sitting next to him. His dad lighted up the hog for Steven with a quiet q-beam,,

Steven also shot at and hit another hog the following nite at the same hunting spot,,,but we lost the blood trail and wasn't able to recover the hog.

I'll likely be going out tomorrow to find out if nature's gonna be able to point the hog out to me,,,[smile]...

I found out that Steven, who's 13 yrs old, is a pretty good shot.

When i asked how he got all his shooting experience, i found out that his grandpa had been taking him out for shooting practices for the past couple of yrs or so,,,

When we were out hunting the escaped hog, Steven was there with us,,,looking for the blood trail just as hard as everybody else.

It was another story though then the hog was hauled to the processing shed for gutting and cleaning. This was Steven's first hog and he wasn't too keen about doing what needed to be done,,so his dad did all the guttin' work,,,

I bet Steven will be ready for the whole thing next time though,,,[smile]...

Sure was fun watching Steven on his first hog hunt,,,
