Hi JHO'ers,

I just wanted to let you all know that I no longer work at Fort Hunter Liggett because of certain circumstances that I can’t really discuss. One thing I can say is, part of the reason I was let go was for being too nice to the hunters and going the extra mile. I was scolded for “giving out too much information”, for example when a hunter would call and ask how’s the weather in FHL or what areas are available, I would talk to them and let them know instead of saying “check the weather channel” or “call the info line for details”. But anyways… I'll be fine, matter of fact, I was already offered a new job today in the hospitality department and might take it. =)

I just wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to JESSE and all the JHO’ers for all your kind words and it was really nice meeting about 50 of you. Last year I didn’t know a single thing about hunting, but JHO has showed me a lot and made my job easier because I gained knowledge here on this website. I’ve even turned into a huntress myself (I went to a Women’s Pheasant Hunt in San Miguel and got 2 birds!) and made my husband a hunter too so we’re now one of you guys.

Sorry I let you all down. Now I can’t give updates or reports but Rochelle is still there and you can always call and ask her questions. She and I are still very good friends so be good to her when you see or talk to her! There’s going to lots of changes in the FHL Hunting and Fishing program. There will still be hunting but a different program will run it. Rumor has it, MWR will take over very soon.

Thanks for everything JHO and I will still come around this website to say hi every now and then! Someone email me where to go hunting in the San Diego area. My sisters live there and I’m thinking of turning my sisters into hunters too.

I can't rightly respond to this Post of Rannie's, cause' it wouldn't be in keeping with the rules and Jesse wouldn't appreciate that a whole lot, so for once, I'm just gonna keep my peace, but I will say...even though I don't know all the particulars',
I believe I know enough that it's a shame Rannie won't be up there workin' the window and all the other behind-the- scenes stuff, she used to! I hope this isn't an indication that other changes are on the horizon, that sometimes take our Sport Hunting in the wrong direction! :-( That's it, I'm finished...Good Luck Rannie and keep in touch Girl ! :)

Rannie - That's a huge loss for us that you won't be there anymore. I was up there many times in 2005 and you guys were always great. Best of luck with everything.

MWR stands for "Morale,Welfare and Recreation". I've seen good and bad MWR programs, all we can do is hope this will be one of the good one's.

That's a shame Rannie. You were a real asset to a lot of these guys here, and to the Public Image of FHL. Wish I'd had the chance to get up there and hunt a weekend, so I could've met you.

Best wishes to you in the new gig!

Thank you Rannie for all your help the past year.

Everyone I've talked to mentioned how nice the girls at the check in window are now compared to the old days.

Rannie even helped us get unstuck by coordinating phone calls after we buried my truck in the mud in area 15.

Good luck in your new job.

One other thing I heard is FHL is going to redraw the training area boundaries. Not sure when but it's the current gossip from FHL.
