Recent afternoon rains have really sprung some life into the dove field! The millet is forming heads and the winds haven't been strong enough to knock down the leftover wheat from this winter, Should be great shooting come september.

Did you plant the field yourself Tominator? I'm seeing doves all over already, one was pecking the grit in front of my truck this morning. It gets real bad the week before the season, they fly right in front of me and just stick out their little tongues.

A group of us go together on it. The landowner buys all the seed and supplies the equipment and we help out as needed. We then invite a few people over and pay him $20 a head. He's gets his money back and we get a place to hunt, works great. We'll have hunts off and on throughout the season with the onetime $20 fee.

I think we should move the JHP dove hunt to S. Carolina
