This is one of the most blatent example of how confused eco-nuts can be,to put a human in danger and in this case ultimitly death because of an animal. As an outdoor enthusiest  ,there is still no way an animal life outweighs a human life.Even if its the last of its kind.
You just wait and see the leaders will give this lip service with no responsibility laid to anyone.
In this day and age of touchy feely lets not blame anyone unless the anmals were injured not people.
I just wished the there was a pilot that would have told them to take that fish and shove it and drop a bucket of water any way.
I hope someone confronts those in command with pictures of both man and fish and tell them you picked a fish over the life of a husband/father.

steve,

This has hit the halls of congress and major networks. A lot of people are asking questions.

In the next few days someone will have to fess up to who's responsible for this tragedy. Bet a box of shotgun shells some little peon will be assigned the blame. As usual, the top dogs won't be touched.

As you said, it would have been great if just one  pilot had said "stuff it" and started a water drop but these nuts have everyone so afraid of jail time or fines that no one is willing to take that chance. Who can blame them.

Sad, sad, sad.........
